Bike Comparison-GS 150R vs Yamaha FZ16 : Suzuki and Yamaha are the two leading bike manufacturer of world. Both bike manufacturers, Suzuki as well as Yamaha has been spend long time in the bike market and they are known for service as well as reliability and comfort. Suzuki GS 150R and the Yamaha FZ16 both bikes fall in the same segment. Both bikes have the similar engine capacity and both bikes fall in price range that makes it tough to choose one of them. So, there is a brief bike comparison between Suzuki GS 150R Vs Yamaha FZ16.



Yamaha FZ16 is equipped with a 153cc, carburatted, air-cooled, SOHC engine with a 5 speed gearbox which can produces 14bhp power at 7500rpm and 13.6Nm torque at 6000rpm. Its powerful engine makes it able to got the best pickup in the 150CC segment. In Yamaha FZ16, power increases in a smooth manner as the power is distributed in the lower and mid torque range. It does not have the raw power like that of Bajaj Pulsar or Apache 160 RTR that give jerks or jolts of acceleration. The handling of Yamaha FZ16 is superb due to its large handlebar that makes it more flickable in the city traffic and its monoshock adds to better cornering and leaning ability. For the city riding, Yamaha FZ16 is the best bike. Yamaha FZ16 is not suitable for highway riding due to very low top end performance and uncomfortable ride.



Suzuki GS 150R is the typical bike with some extra weight. Suzuki GS 150R is equipped with a 149.5cc, SOHC engine with a 6 speed gearbox (1-down, 5-up) that produces 13.8bhp power at 8500rpm. and 13.4Nm torque at 6000rpm. Its engine seems to be very smooth but less than Yamaha FZ16. It feels heavy at lower speeds and yes there are no vibrations at a speed of 80kmph but the sound of engine changes. Its engine is not as refined as Yamaha FZ16 but has digital instrumentation and gear change indicator. The instrument panels enabled in Suzuki GS 150R looks very good. It does’nt have a feature like monoshock but it handles the potholes on rough road easily. The initial pickup is lesser than Yamaha FZ16.
