  • Mahindra LogoThe third largest auto manufacturer of India, Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to enter the Indian two-wheeler market by this January end. Mahindra is also planning to launch new bikes in India in both entry level segment and in the sports bike segment. It has been over around six months that Mahindra & Mahindra had bought Kinetic and now planning to get into the competition with two of its upgraded products. These new upgraded products will be launched by a new firm that Mahindra & Mahindra and Kinetic had formed “Mahindra Kinetic”, in which Mahindra held 80% stake while Kinetic Motors retained the remaining 20%.

    The Mahindra Kinetic will enter the two-wheeler market with upgrades of Flyte and Nova, the gearless scooter of Kinetic. The upgraded versions of Flyte and Nova will be available in showrooms by the end of this month. Both scooters will be launched without any change in their prices. The 125cc Flyte and 135cc Nova are currently priced at around Rs. 41,000 (as ex-showroom price Delhi). “Mahindra has already started production of these co-branded two wheelers at its Pithampur manufacturing plant near Indore and will start dispatching them to dealers soon,” said the one of the Kinetic dealer.

    Mahindra is serious about attacking the two-wheeler market and also planning to launch new bikes in India both in the entry level mass market as well as in the lifestyle and performance segment. The company official said that company has been in partnership talks with various global bike brands to source products to launch new bike in the top end segment while in the bottom end segment it will launch new bike that will be serviced by products made and designed inhouse.
